Good local chinese delivery or restaurant?

Hi

Can you reccomend any GOOD chinese takeaway or restaurant in or near East Dulwich. I have been to http://www.dragon-castle.com/ Elephant and castle which was amazing but dont know any where closer.....help please im craving it! :0)

HK City is much better....Dim Sum is probably the best in the area....located at New Cross

IMO Hong Kong City dim sum is a bit stodgy and not a patch on Dragon Castle. But each to their own and all that (only tried the dim sum, not had dinner). Not tried any other Cantonese restaurant other than DC south of the river that I'd recommend.

If you fancy trying Xinjiang (northern) style Chinese, then Silk Road in Camberwell is good. Or a few doors down, Wulli Wulli do a mixture of Sichuan food plus all the usual anglicised sweet and sour, crispy duck, etc.

I use the one in Nunhead - The Great Wall http://hungryhouse.co.uk/great-wall-se15 and have done for some time.

It isn't particularly authentic or mind blowing like Wulli Wulli or Silk Road but they do good standard English style Chinese food (you know what I mean I'm sure!). Always arrives hot with friendly driver etc and reasonably priced.

I've tried a lot of the delivery places over the last 5 years or so and have been disappointed in the vast number of occasions.

I also heard a rumour that Lovely House on Bellenden Road deliver but if they don't the BYO restaurant is a little gem - the soup noodles and dim sum are tasty.

I second The Great Wall in Nunhead - we have been using it for years, especially recommend their duck dishes and the hot and sour soup but it's all good. Their special pancake rolls are almost a meal in themselves!

Only downside to Great Wall is that they don't do a Foo Yung. Although in fairness whilst it isn't on the menu, I have never specifically asked and it may well be that they'd do one on request.

I like Golden Noodle at Queens Road Peckham. Great Wall doesn't do ho fun, nor salt and chilli squid, which are my staples. Otherwise it's pretty good too.

The nicest chinese I have had is from Mayflower in SE21, they deliver to SE22 and their food is really nice - much better than Yee Wah on Barry Road and MUCH better than the shit food served at the one on Upland Road.
