Happy memories of Dogbolter about 16 yrs ago. Don't remember a balcony, just a choo choo that scurried round the top of the pub. Surely even if Mrs BN5 is at work, it's close enough to bunk off to? [apparently closes at 11pm]

Ah don't be shy Shell. I came on my own my first time and everyone was really friendly and welcoming. In fact first time I came was a pub crawl the day after I moved to East Dulwich, and I didn't know anyone here before that so it was a nice way to start to get to know people in the area. (note to self, must work less and do more of this!!!)

I know the last time I went (November or October I think...) I got chatting to another chap came on his own, having not even posted before, just having read the forum and he said he had a really good time.

There are quite a few first timers planning to come this time too so it would be a great time to come along, I'm sure you won't regret it.

    • I know one of the Peckham Rye Egyptian geese sadly lost its mate a few years ago. There now seems to be a pair with goslings from two different hatchings. But, there is a solitary Greylag goose, did this ever have a mate? Also, do the Canada geese ever have offspring? I have not seen any this year?
    • At least there were still two adult geese  with them. Hopefully they reached somewhere green and safe. Well done to the people who stopped the traffic for them to cross!  I recently read a very sad story of a similar goose family where one of the parents had been run over by a car, and the other goose and the goslings were standing at the side of the road wailing 😭
    • Walking in the park today I was struck by how much bigger the footprint of the event looks and how that will impact the park. I guess it is only when you see it all being cordoned off that you realise. It feels like all the playing fields will be impacted to some extent. There is another area  being cordoned off at the other end of the park, close to Harris Girls. Does anyone know if this is temporary and to do with the event delivery juggernauts (so green, so environmentally friendly) or something unrelated?
    • Thank you, I’ve sent you a pm.
