Good Italian Restaurant?

Can anyone recommend a good Italian restaurant in or around the area?

I'm taking a young lady out on our 1st date so need somewhere that will impress, i know she loves italian so any recomendations would be appreciated.

Artusi on Bellenden Rd is v nice

Le Querce in Honor Oak is supposed to be good (not been personally)

The Italian options in ED itself are fine but a bit more run-of-the-mill

It may be a chain but i can't fault Rocca in Dulwich village great location, great food and good price.

Rocca will probably be full of children, so maybe not the best choice.

Artusi on belleden is really great. Buzzy with excellent food. Ideal for a date I'd say ( if I can remember what's required!)

I would be most disgruntled if someone took me to Si Mangia or Rocca for a date. Neither suggest a special occasion. Whereas Artusi is not too try-hard either.

Artusi for sure. But be sure to book ahead particularly if you are thinking of Friday or Saturday evening - it is very popular (hurrah!).

The food was lovely, great atmosphere & my lady was very impressed.....which has lead onto a few more dates since then so thank you very much EDF : )
