He's been there for so so long, I think I'd be a bit miserable if I had been seeing the same 4 walls 7 days a week for 30+ years!

He's not miserable at all - he's just not one of those all-singing all-dancing newsagents.

And if you want to see him smile, just ask him how his baby granddaughter is getting on!

He (and his wife) are lovely once they recognise you as a regular, though a bit minimalist when it comes to chat. Remember being so happy when I got my first smile of recognition!

Just for the record, Whateley ends at the junction with Crystal Palace Road. Underhill starts at the CPT.
