Recommendation for Prestige Build for a loft conversion

There are lots of recommendations for Prestige on here. Adding my considered view after a 3 month project?

After an extensive search to choose a builder for a loft conversion I decided on Prestige. They seemed to offer a bit more of a bespoke service than the ?off the shelf? loft specialists and the manager Jay is a good communicator. They were not the cheapest but you get what you pay for I think. I started with a loft but ended up having a new roof, the back of the house repointed and various other building works as I was impressed with the overall standard of the work. The project managers I dealt with below Jay were on the whole very competent as was the overall supervision from Jay, with whom I met regularly throughout the build. There were unexpected events along the way and negotiations over pricing as with any project but these were managed in a professional manner. They have a big team at their disposal and were able to turn their hand to additional work I requested with little lead time. The finish is to a high standard and the team will return after the summer for any remedial snagging or cracking. Overall very good!

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!
    • Avoid KFH. Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
