I cried at the end of Timolean Vieta come home too - I felt absolute shock at the ending, which is why I think I had such a strong reaction.

I read his new book "Gold" a couple of weeks back - it didn't quite match Timolean but did have some wonderful moments.

Just to bring this one up top again.

What do you think of a book swap shop at the next EDF drink. Serves a few purposes in that newcomers will recognise a table laden with books, it could be an ice-breaker(although in my experience one isnt needed), and we all go home with a little treat.

I recently finished reading The Contortionist's Handbook by Craig Clevenger. If you enjoyed The Dice Man then this is probably a book for you! Now reading The Hammer of the God's (Led Zeppelin biography) but not really enjoying it that much as I'm not a big fan of their music!

Hammer of the Gods was a real let down. I thought it was meant to be really controversial, it just came across as one man with his tongue firmly inserted inside Jimmy Page's rusty sheriff's badge.

Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis is well worth a go though. I must say I'm quite tempted by a previous poster's suggestion of that Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street era biog.
