Recommended Posts

sainsbury's is seriously expensive. just spent 26 quid and got two carrier bags worth of stuff, like eggs and rice, no caviar, no wine, just basics and some loo roll.....26 bloody quid! there isn't even a meal's worth in the bag. where is lidyl when you need it heh? we so need asda to come to this area! lol
Iceland is the place to go. Free range eggs are ?1.25 for 6. You can get bags of apples and pears for ?1, four tins of tuna for ?3, 4 tins of chickpeas or kidney beans for ?1, butter for ?1, 1l of olive oil for ?3 etc etc. Milk, cream, yoghurt, frozen veg is all cheap. It's really good for the basics.

Sainsbury's is sooooo expensive.

However, I went into Somerfield the other night, and they were discounting 10 can boxes of Boddingtons beer to ?1.29.... Yup 12p a can!! Not that I drink the stuff but that is a supermarket responding to the credit crunch!

Stop it TinaGwee.

Though every time I see your name, I see it as TingaWee. It's probably some sort of eye dyslexia. Or something.

You've neglected to mention the rake of Nectar points you collected on your visit. Oh, no don't hear about that.

Kvetch about your 26 pound notes, of course.

By the way, Somerfield are doing 4 x 66cl bottles of Stella for a fiver at the moment.

Doubt if even a Waitrose would supply that sort of bargain.

Whilst researching my response to this post (ooh, get me) I found the following gem on Wikipedia -

Rawls appeared in a segment of the first season of Sesame Street, to sing the alphabet. He dismissed the concept of using cue cards for the performance, but reversed such decision when he forgot the order of the letters.[3]
