I think she can be forgiven for it, only just though.

Hmmm? I really shouldn?t be so hard on the Bishop. A few years ago a young lady once suggested that we go there on our first date. Consequently she agreed to marry me.

Although I?m not sure if what that says about her judgment reflects well or badly on the place.

I was actually refused entrance in there a few weeks back because the management had recognised that I was already in an advanced state of refreshment. Fair enough but probably no more so than 99.9-per-cent of the clientele that were already getting plastered inside it's walls. It's a pub for feck's sake. People go there to get pissed. Oh! How I celebrated. Elsewhere of course.
Blimey, I never knew it was so ill thought of. To be fair I do spend 95% of the time out the back necking tabs so am rarely actually in the place itself. So what do the Camra Pub Snobs recommend instead? Is there a fusty old backwater hostelry that stills sells Manns stout and Hofmeister I didnt know about...ah, those were the days.

    • I can't guarantee that they'll have what you're after but I was very impressed with The Nunhead Gardener this week.  I'd also been to Croxted Road and the Pot and Plant next to North Dulwich Station and the selection at both paled by comparison.
    • Not attached to anything but did have a collar on but I thought that was strange too. I wasn’t sure what to do after i saw the woman go after him/her, as I didn’t know where he/she had gone (or if she/he perhaps was taken home after that point)

    • Was it not attached to anything? It seems a bit odd to leave a dog just standing by itself, if not. Also a bit odd if it ran away when its owner returned. You would think a happy dog would be pleased to see its owner. Was that outside the cafe in the park?
