campsites in new forest?

Looking for recommendations for campsites in new forest area for young families (5, 3 and 20 months). Our first time camping as a family and would love to stay somewhere with good facilities and near some good activities/day trips in case of bad weather. Thanks.

We are currently considering a trip to Sandy Balls. Our attempts not to find it constantly funny were doomed once we found out that the local pub is the Fighting Cock.

Sandy Balls is a great spot - and the giggling is compulsory! Gosh think it might be 7+ yrs since we went and I understand it has changed since (more facilities now) but was really great with young ones. Not a massive drive from London and close to various sightseeing bits n bobs at the other end including the south coast.

Good facilities but nothing too OTT. New Forest ponies on site and lots of walking/den building opportunities.

Yes i did come across red shoot farm and it also looks good for families. Anyone been to or know anything about shamba holidays?

A big vote for Redshoots. A great site with a good shop on site and - best of all - a pub right outside the site with a couple of tree swings to keep the kids happy while you sup a pint. Our kids keep asking to go back.
