Monkey
I am on first week of a new commute and have in the evenings been waiting for a number 12 or 97 bus from Peckham rye to Barry road for 15-20 minutes several times. Have I just been unlucky or are these routes becoming erratic? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/ Share on other sites
fernado
You're unlucky. There's normally a 12 every 7 mins or so. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/#findComment-761409 Share on other sites
KidKruger
Try the 197, goes to Barry Rd from PR. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/#findComment-761415 Share on other sites
Lowlander
I walk to/from Peckham Rye to the top of Barry Road most days - 25 mins. When I do get the bus it's a maximum 10 minute wait. DuncanW
Isn't there a phone app that tells you exactly when the buses are coming? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/#findComment-761494 Share on other sites
gpercival78
you can text - check around the bus stop, there is a number to insert and it will tell you when the next is due or try Busguru app Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/#findComment-761497 Share on other sites
Bic Basher
The 12 is usually good, every 4-5 during the day. The 197 is more erratic to be fair. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/#findComment-761502 Share on other sites
PhilPhilPhil
The 12 was a bit dodgy earlier in the week due to temporary traffic lights between Camberwell and Peckham but I think it was back to normal by yesterday evening. I get it home from the west end most nights and its usually pretty good though if there is a lot of traffic they can sometimes catch each other up, in which case you might not see one for ages towards the end of the route and then a bunch turn up in a convoy. Unlike the text service, this is free bar the data usage. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46361-number-12-bus/#findComment-761622 Share on other sites

intexasatthe moment
I think the public transport provision is fantastic . And if you compare it with other towns/cities in the UK we are very ,very lucky . Much greater investment in transport in London than anywhere else .
