I had an horrifically scary experience with my Phil & Ted's buggy on Friday that I wanted to share in case it prevents a terrible accident. I had been getting on and off the trains all day, then suddenly when I went to get off the train in Purley the front wheel fell off the buggy and under the train. The whole buggy lurched forward and down - luckily my baby was strapped in and I had the loop around my wrist so I was able to keep a hold of the buggy and stop it and my baby from following the wheel down and through the gap in the platform and under the train!! It was so scary. I wanted to let people know to be careful if you have a phil & ted buggy where the front wheel detaches. I don't know why the wheel came off suddenly. I had got on to the train and it was fine and on and off a few trains throughout the day. Perhaps the lever got caught on the edge of the train on the way out?? There was no way to get the wheel until the train pulled out, then they stopped the trains on the track in order to get the wheel off the track - I dread to think what would have happened if I didn't have the strap around my wrist.

Please be careful - I have contacted phil & ted to let them know.

Bloody hell, that must have been scary! I never felt very safe with our old P&T as they're a bugger for rolling away, and mine very nearly rolled in to a road once.

My fault for not having the wrist strap on, but that could have been a very very high price for a little oversight.

    • Hello, I found some keys on Monday morning on Melbourne Grove. The keyring was not Donald Duck though. Could it be another keyring?
    • As a note of recommendation, I did this course in Rye Oak Centre, Peckham and gained so much from it. Was such a lovely, supportive group.
    • Wish they get rid of the tree in Barry Rd adjacent to the Plough, The roots are all over the place, Council re tarmacked them some time ago but makes the pavement uneven. You cannot get a mobility scooter over them as tarmac slopes. Witness a lady with wheelchair trying to get over , in the end her carer had to help over with 2 crutches then push the empty chair over. Also young children using scooters/bikes have fallen off at this point. Hubby spoke to tarmac workers when the work was done and they felt the area was very dangerous to pedestrians and the council should have authorised the removal of both tree and roots. Some prams cannot get over as well. Prior to Christmas, mother/carer with 2 children in double buggy had to walk in road with on coming traffic. We do need trees   I have 2 in my garden - one is well over 50 years old and we have it pollard every few years to prevent it damaging neighbours property.
    • Just that really - lookiing for a box to fit size 45 x 45 x 55 cm. Many thanks
