azurh
Hello! I need some advice on alarms/ security system.I have heard awful awful reviews on ADT. Can anyone recommend an alarm company? How do parents cope with children and alarms , how do you structure your system? as i still need to go to the kitchen in the middle of the night to get milk for my daughter if the alarm is activated how does this all work?I am totally new to alarm systems but we really need one in the street we live in, its a quiet place! cmacnew
Hello, we had an alarm fitted a few years ago and used Aardvark security, I don't have anything to compare him to price wise, but Tony is a lovely chatty guy and very knowledgeable. He's down in Kent but often in this area. we have an alarm panel upstairs and downstairs for that exact reason. verds
We have a system where you can put the 'home' setting on, so no-one can get in or out of windows and doors, but you can move around inside all the rooms. And then when we go out, we put the full system on with sensors. Which means a small person can't wander downstairs at night and set the whole thing off! I also heard bad reviews of ADT, with their yearly maintenance fees. We used a local company - Home Security Services in Kirkdale, Sydenham, and they weren't too pricey and very helpful. CFM
We use Guardian alarms, and they have been good. We have a downstairs setting for overnight, and the children have learnt not to go downstairs while it is on (after setting it off once or twice). Has added benefit of keeping out of mischief in the early mornings... Higster
We have three modes on our alarm, full set, downstairs, and perimeter.Downstairs only activates ground floor sensors, and perimeter only activates doors and windows etc.Alarm was installed and is also maintained annually by First Protection who are brilliant. The alarm is also monitored for ?25 per month.
