damzel
On Friday afternoon just past midday, my dad was sitting in his car outside my house waiting for me to arrive (he's always early, sigh) and a lady approached and knocked on the car window. He opened it and she asked him if he wanted some "moody". "Pardon" he replied "Moody! Would you like some moody?" Now he may have misheard the term "moody" as she had an accent, but he is convinced she was offering him some afternoon err delight. Is that likely? Anyone know what "moody" is? alba
No idea....most intriguing. On TV the other night in the documentary "Rich Kid, Poor Kid" the rich kid (who apparently attends JAG) described the Poor Kid as "Butters". (ugly). You should furnish your dad with some local vocabulary. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4593-fancy-some-moody/#findComment-148195 Share on other sites

bon3yard
I thought 'moody' just meant 'snide' or 'trancid'...then again it might just mean 'fairyhammock'. HonaloochieB
Nah, she was offering him 'moody' gear. White goods, electronics, high end clothing and toiletries.Just in time for Christmas and at never to be repeated prices. Straight up.Tell your dad that if approached again he should take her up on her offer and drive her to her warehouse. andypandy
.....clearly if she wants the work she needs to call a spade a spade - forget cockney slang. A clear menu of services off on a T-shirt, for example, would be very helpful ( perhaps with diagrams). Marketing - it's all in the marketing. damzel
Not sure why T.L.S thinks he knows where I live! I don't live in Peckham. Am I missing something here? (probably, it's a bit early)It was Landells Road. My dad thinks the lady was of Thai descent but was not sure. I've just run this past my colleagues and they think she may have been saying "movie" rather than "moody"! I'll have to ask him if she had a rucksack with her. Normally they wave the discs around tho don't they. Considering what he thought, it's a good job he didn't say yes else he may have suffered a slipped disc in an unusual place arf arf doctor doctor, I tripped and fell on a ..... Now am I going to find lots of forumites sitting in their cars up and down my road on Friday?!
