French Conversation Group (Boulangerie Jade, Barry Road)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

As some of you may know for the past 2.5 months we've had a French conversation group in the shop. Numbers have fluxated but have been fairly consistent, now we want to make sure everyone knows!

I've attended conversation classes in other languages and they can often turn into one person becoming a teacher and the rest students - not with this one! Language learning is about organic immersion so we endevour to change an hour of your day into an hour in France. The group is:

? completely free

? people run, you decide what you want to discuss.

? no BJ staff participate, however we will attempt to have our French speakers here to take your orders in French for the total experience (sometimes it isn't possible due to personal schedules)

? every week without fail, all we need is two of you and we're good to go!

? open to all levels. Don't be discouraged if you are intermediate, just listening to French on a regular basis can help along side personal study/lessons you do.

? all participants receive double loyalty stamps for their hot drinks during the hour.

The times for the group are Wednesday 14:00-15:00 and Sunday 15:30-16:30. People are invited to stay longer if they so wish, however there won't be double stamps and the French speaking staff may not be there!

If you're interested please email: [email protected] or pop into the cafe! Registering your interest early allows me to form an email list and know roughly how many to expect, but not completely necessary.

Look forward to seeing everyone,

Boulangerie Jade.

    • leave the window alone and put in some "secondary glazing" For sound proofing, you need as big an air gap as you can muster (in this image they should have used the whole windowsill) if you try your own DIY screen (with perspex & wood) you must seal it as far away from the window as you can and add baffles round the perimeter inside (eg. egg cartons) (or other sound proofing materials are availble online). The air gap is your baffle (buffer). Cheaper than replacing the window.
