Hi All,

Can anyone help, I want to find out what the wine I had the other night was at the Brixton Ritzy.

Pinot Noir, ?9 a large glass. Hawke something I think?

Well, New Zealand is quite well known for it's Pinot Noir and Hawke's Bay is one of the main wine regions in the SW of the North Island, so Hawke might be referring to the location of origin rather than brand.

Late 60s, early 70s vintage? It might be Hawkewind, the Junior Vintner went off to found The Moteuread Vineyard in Gascony in the late 70s. Its lost a lot of body in recent times and seems to subscribe to the law of diminshing returns, but when it was done well....well, cest magnifique!

why don't you call the Brixton Ritzy and ask them, they may have more idea.

If it was served by a naked waitress called Stacia, it may well have been Hawkwind.
