Disagree here - I've definitely seen it on many an occasion, and one time, back when there were still bus conductors, witnessed a violent physical assault. None of which is to say that I don't agree vehemently with Brendan.

I've definitely witnessed lots of abuse heaped on (in these cases) an innocent driver. Given the hours, facilities at each end ofthe route, and general London traffic I'm amazed they don't go postal more often. Which isn't to excuse the behaviour outlined above but if the battles lines are strictly "Joe Public v Bus Drivers" I'm not sure I would fight exclusively for one side or t'other
