Who gave you the right to propose any such thing? All such proposals need to be made to the Effective Working Practices Special Interest Group, whose outputs are flowed upstream and downstream to the EWP SIG stakeholders, before approval.

I'd be happy to let you have our latest discussion document, "Evening social interaction: KPIs and SLAs. V1.32". Or you can download more on our site here: ftp.pissupinabrewery.organise.howto-item.html

A radical proposal perhaps.

EDDC is a sizeable group with alcohol purchasing power much valued in these CC times. How about the pubs and bars in ED and on the periphery propose how well they'd accommodate us and then we select (via the EDEWPSIG of course) the lucky 12.

If somebody would care to prepare a composite proposal for submission to the next meeting of the T'Social Committee of the Supreme Soviet of East Dulwich - we will give it due attention at an appropriate time.

In the meantime would the Stewards care to escort all dissidents to a suitable venue for re-education.

Now, whats for lunch?

Gentlemen I apologise for not properly stating my position before putting my proposals forward. I am actually the current (and recently appointed) Advisor on Drinking, Imbibing and Consumption to the Social Committee.

As I act as ADIC in a purely advisory capacity my activities are not covered in the Terms of Reference of the EDEWPSIG. If in future the Sub-Committee chooses to include the activities of ADIC in your TOR I will of course be happy to be accommodating. For now though I don?t see any reason why our activities cannot be synergouse yet siloed while still maintaining constructive inter-committee communications at all levels up and downstream as well as across on little wooden bridges.

As ADIC I would like to invite you to the inaugural meeting of my newly commissioned group the Drinking, Imbibing and Consuming Sub-Committee. At this meeting of DICS your insightful paper ?Evening social interaction: KPIs and SLAs. V1.32? will be tabled as Appendix 4.A to the working, discussion document ?Props/A. todayeastdulwich-tomorrow-aslightlybiggerbitofsoutheastlondon V1.1? Which amongst other things proposes the appointment of and East Dulwich Drinks Czarina.

if we are after suggestions then my two pence worth is the rye.. I organise a separate meet up there once a month and they give us the back section with heaters etc and are great at catering for large numbers!! You never know they may even decorate for us given our numbers!!

Otherwise Georgia Im happy just to go wherever you tell me to!

Not so, I have no preference I'm just trying to benchmark the whole process.

Food is good there too

Great idea, but would there be some kind of system so we didn't end up going to the same place every time? Or even every other time!

Edited to say: Why not just list every pub/bar in ED/ED borders, eliminate those unsuitable because of size, put them more or less at random against each month but have those with gardens between ?May and September?, then just start again when you get to the end?

Adding on new pubs as they open or taking them off as they close?

Once we have gone somewhere that month, when the next month is put up then that particular pub just doesnt go in to the poll so we only choose from what is left.. Maybe it then gets refreshed i.e. all the pubs go back in say every 6 months..

You could take 2 approaches:

Use a poll to get a list of 12 venues and then use those for the year - the advantage of this is that the poll only has to be done once a year. However, Admin would have to keep an eye out for manipulation and hanging chads.

or

Do a monthly poll BUT to avoid repeating ourselves or manipulation the successfull venues, once visited are then out of the running for the rest of the year. However a monthly poll would involved alot of work for admin.

    • That’s another big hike on the Sainsbury’s mini rolls! I spoke to one of the managers on the day of the anchovies price rise but all he could say was that his store doesn’t set the prices. Very vague and not helpful. i started this thread about price rises in  Sainsbury’s and it’s somehow being blamed on Brexit etc!
    • And the Sainsbury’s own brand chocolate mini rolls have gone from £1.15 to £1.40 overnight, so 22%-ish. I prefer them them to the Cadbury original because they have a lot more chocolate on them, presumably because they’re made in a less advanced factory. I would think that getting the Rizla thin coating of chocolate that Cadbury’s accountants demand onto a piece of sponge is quite a sophisticated operation. Discuss.
    • Another recommendation for Leon. He was able to come out to our electrical elergency within 24 hours of me contacting him. His communication was great and whilst he could not solve our problem, he was able to perform tests to identify this and did so quickly and efficiently. He charging  is very fair and his manner very pleasant. Both of these in contrast to some experiences I have had elsewhere.    happy to put my name to recommending Leon. His number is  07707 925039.
