It's not that it isn't "gentrified"... it's because it's a bit of a dump.

It is possible to give a pub a lick of paint every 10-20 years (and dare I suggest an occasional clean) without becoming "gentrified"!

Or even the Old Nun's Head. We haven't been there. They have an upstairs room - whether they would let us have it? http://london.randomness.org.uk/wiki.cgi?Old_Nun%27s_Head%2C_SE15_3QQ

The space in Hoopers only worked because quite a few people spilt into the main area of the pub.

Yeah but it was still a good night. As far as I can recall.

I wouldn't mind +venture. It's a bit of a negative that they don't do beer (except in a bottle for a million pounds a go) but I will manage for one night.

Ps. I am actually going to come to this one instead of just being all opinionated about the venue and then not rocking up. :-$

The Freudians make note of your original post quids.

They also make note that you did not choose the 'edit' option.

"I just never like coming before and getting on my high hores."

A sentiment that does you credit.

To change the subject, does the title of Oliver Stone's latest mean anything to you?

Adventure Bar? No fecking way. Too small, and no proper beer. I'd settle for the any of the following though...The Dog, the Duke, The Clockhouse, The Plough, Magnolia, The Castle, EDT and CPT. I also really like the sound of doing the Wishing Well as it hasn't been done before even if it is in Peckham, it's a lovely old pub and I also think we should add The Ivy House to the list too.

A bar that only sells bottle beer? But, but, that means going to the bar twice as much.

Not that's any of my bees wax, as I never come. Though a Christmas drink in early December sounds quite nice. It won't clash with my work's do, as well, frankly we never have a Christmas knees up. I mean, like never, ever.
