I think strictly speaking that applies to criminal procedures.

With no charges having been made arseholes of the world unite in coming up with any old rubbish conspiracy theory and presumption of guilt, and papers can come up with any old crap to sell their filthy rags.

That's how our injudicious [social] media works.

I'm not posting again (after this post) or entering into any discussion on this thread unless or until someone/some people are charged, having learned my lesson in the past and not wishing to be verbally attacked again and accused of being sick and in need of psychiatric help :(

However I will say three things.

1. You can read (translations of) the original Portuguese police files here, which are hard facts without media distortion, spinning and opinion:

http://themaddiecasefiles.com/forum3.html?sid=5969424745f82f38a41b5c7eee000e22

2. It is interesting that the current investigation is again using cadaver dogs - the dogs which Mr McCann said were "notoriously unreliable" after two British dogs in 2007 alerted to many places and items associated with the McCanns, and alerted nowhere else (and the dogs who some people on this forum also dissed).

3. It is interesting that the current digging is taking place very near the area where the Smith family saw a man resembling Mr McCann carrying a child on the night of Madeleine's disappearance, and which sighting according to Crimewatch the Met are now apparently treating as very significant, having discounted the "abductor" which Jane Tanner "saw" near the McCanns' apartment on the same night.

I remember that I was again pulled to pieces on the previous thread on here for bringing up this Smith sighting - which the Portuguese police had also considered very significant.

And now, although it is going to be extremely hard for me - having followed the case for the past seven years - I am not going to look at this thread again.

I shall continue to discuss developments on other forums, where my views based on information in the public domain which does not come from media reports are not considered "sick". I fully accept that there is an enormous amount of information which has not been made public which could completely change my present views if I knew it.

Let us hope that finally justice is done in this case, whoever or whatever turns out to have been responsible for the death of a three year old child.

What ever happened to that poor wee girl may never be known.

What really pi**es me off is how easy a ride the fu*king McCann's have got for their role in the disappearance of their daughter.

If they had not been so selfish in wanting to go out on the lash and leave three children alone in a foreign country for numerous nights, none of this would ever have happened.

IMO they should have been charged with child neglect.

I despise that pair, even more so for never really acknowleding what they did was hideous and was the single factor that meant she disappeared.

God I hate the ugly side of the forum

Even cackling at them from the sidelines for being middle-class and white is bad enough

But to accuse someone who is going to spend rest of their lives haunted what happened that night of doing it themselves, and travelling the world as a holiday, on someone elses dime?

Some people need to take a good hard look at themselves

I basically agree with everything you say here.

But

I did find myself just not liking them from the off. And I know that's bad of me, but I just found them instantly unlikable.

But totally agree that any crime they commited that night in leaving their kids alone has been more than paid for, and will continue to be paid for (well over the odds) for the rest of their lives.

Their mistake was not to do enough crying on camera for a long enough period - to sate the public appetite. Like that Joanne Lees woman in Australia. If only she'd have cried a bit more people might have been a bit more sympathetic. As it was, she only had herself to blame for the way everyone turned on her.

Personally, I expect a continuous stream of bereaved tears to be funnelled into a bowl - set at my feet - for a period of at least one year. Anything else is a clear indication of guilt.
