Planning for extra residential

Hi we were wondering what local planners at Southwark are like about building extra residential spaces i/e at the bottom of a garden? not like a roof terrace as not overlooking anyone but essentially adding a bathroom and a bedroom as an annexe? Can anyone think of any examples? Many thanks.
