Does anyone know where I can buy 'sized' pre walker shoes? My 14 mo has just started walking, we've been advised he shouldn't be in the next stage sole for a few months until he gets more confident, but he is too big for the really soft soled which only seem to go up to 24 mths. He is a size 4/5 already!

So I guess I need to know has anyone bought a bigger size pre walker, or have people gone to the next stage shoe straight away?

Thanks.

both my kids' first pair of shoes were size 4.5. I don't think they need shoes at all until they can walk quite confidently - didn't buy them for mine until they could walk across the room and change direction (ie it was likely they'd be walking outside). They both had clarks doodles for their first pair rather than specific cruiser shoes and were fine. In fact 4 weeks after getting her first pair of shoes my daughter switches between sandals, crocs, leather slippers and wellies with apparently no issues in any of them!

If you don't have any joy with clarks, I'd recommend Biff in Dulwich village as they have a bigger range with different brands so some may be more suitable.

Hi, i can really sympathise. My son got his first shoes at 11 months and they were a 5F! He was a good wker by that point though but I was worried about the shoes being too hard for his young feet. We went to clarks wt westfield and the lady said the most important thing was to get the size right rather than worry about him being too young.

Interesting midivydale, the girl in the shop we went to was talking about the stiffness of the sole, and how he might not like it and regress to crawling.

As everything baby related, so much conflicting advice.....

I'll try another shop and see what more advice I get.

Thanks all.

Hi all and thanks for all the input. We went to Biff and got a great pair of startrite. The fitter there said they were essentially for protection of the sole outside, not supporting. But like experiences above, I think he is in the biggest size.

And now he is screaming......

    • There are so many variables. Good chefs can having bad nights, post-Brexit staff shortages, your dish might be brilliant, your friend might order something that's inedible. In the end I think the best option is just to go to the restaurant which has the best overall reviews. If all the reviews are bad then avoid, but even if all the reviews are good that's not a cast iron gaurantee.
    • The trouble is that pub management and chefs are constantly changing, so what might be fantastic on one occasion  becomes terrible a short time later, and vice versa. Two of the worst pub lunches I've had locally were at the Dog in the village and the Plough, but both those were some time ago. We had an absolutely appalling Christmas lunch on Christmas Day at The Cherry Tree, which was also exorbitantly expensive, so unless their chef (I use the term loosely) has changed, I wouldn't advise eating there. The menu looked amazing. We thought we would treat ourselves. Never again 😭
