MrBen
About to watch the yanks start in Harry's Corner dive bar full of characters in New Orleans. Good build up helped by an eclectic juke box triple strength mixers and generally mad people. MrBen
That Brazil Mexico game....best so far for me and outstanding from their keeper. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44749-the-2014-world-cup-thread/page/8/#findComment-756870 Share on other sites
Mick Mac
Yes MrB interesting that the pundits on the follow up program said Brazil Mexico had failed to deliver. I thought it was quietly excellent. El Pibe
Brazil not looking like world beaters, but I'm sure they'll get a few more dodgy decisions to propel them into the last 4 in the hope that it'll all come together.I'm hoping today should deliver the most satisfying set of matches so far. I'm quietl;y confident for Spain which is usually the kiss of death. Jeremy
I don't often watch football, but to these layman's eyes, Brazil lacked the quality in movement/passing that people expect from them. The match seemed a bit scrappy. But I think that's often the case with these early group matches... Otta
I need some of that stuff. Although I'd just need to draw a circle around me and the telly and the chaos would continue all around me. aquarius moon
You all need to encourage your women to join in/watch the world cup with you.We can be quite good at bets/predictions etc. (and even better than you!)It's not just a man thing you know?! maxxi
Quite enjoying Danny Mills in this one - reminds me of Big Ron on a good day.Great Chilean goal - second half should be a barnstormer with Spain throwing everything at it. First real crux game of the cup. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44749-the-2014-world-cup-thread/page/8/#findComment-757174 Share on other sites
Otta
Agreed.I always liked Big Ron on telly. Of course hebjad to go for that balls up, but it was a shame in terms of the entertainment. aquarius moon
I hate Spain (as a country) nothing specifically against their football team, but as they are Spanish, quite happy right now. maxxi
2nd half didn't really live up to 1st but I love the way Chile play. Pressure, never let it go, take them on etc. All the things England should have their young players trying. Spain were poor but Chile look good. El Pibe
Spain were all over the shop, lack of commitment and ideas, shadows of what they do well. GUtted, but going out the tournament, fair enough on that evidence.Luckily England will go all the way, or my newly adopted Ireland, one of them will win it for sure. Jah Lush
Couldn't give a toss. Spain have had their day. They were fabulous at their peak but now way past their best. Hate to say I told you so. Congratulations to Chile. The Holland - Australia match was an absolute corker. End to end stuff for 90 minutes. Great entertainment. El Pibe
It's like a template going forward!!"Couldn't give a toss. Spurs have had their day. They were fabulous at their peak (about 100 years ago when Paul mariner played for them) but now way past their best. Hate to say I told you so. Congratulations to west ham, over and over again."
