Just up the road in Camberwell, there's a wonderful place that does gluten-free savoury crepes: Cafe Maloko, 60 Camberwell Church Street, SE5 8QZ (near corner with Camberwell Grove, look for blue awning with orange lettering). Great for vegetarians and vegans, too.

A bit further afield - but on the 12 bus route - is a good, authentic Italian restaurant which offers gluten-free versions of almost every dish (the owner is coeliac himself) - Cotto, 89 Westminster Bridge Road, SE1 7HR (top of Kennington Road).

Good luck - and please post details of any useful places you discover!

Much of the food at Toasted is GF, although if celiac I imagine your want to check if there's a risk of cross contamination as they do also make their own (non-GF) cake and bread.

The Dish & The Spoon on Cheltenham Road often has a good range of homebaked GF cakes.

There is a thread in GF offerings somewhere on the forum which I seem to recall posting on which may be useful. Perhaps take a look at Kim Mcgowan's blog www.naturallyglutenfree.wordpress.com - she is SE London based sometimes reviews local places.

Well blimey, lychees aren't exactly hard to get hold of - fresh or canned!

They're delicious.

    • Thanks…..still convinced I can get my rent back - not vindictive person but no one treats me this way & gets away with it. Will teach them a good lesson if they get a fine - well two really - much rater have rent back. Yes, will be taking pix - already have one for mould in bedroom - now removed.
    • Take your own meter readings and properly document the condition of the property when you leave. The LL won’t have a case to claim against your deposit without a sign in inventory. Not having an EPC is largely irrelevant- if you report him he might get a fine but you are unlikely to get compensation.
    • Thank you both. Inexperience Landlord trying to save  a few pennies - hence no agent involved. The issue is the fact that it is my understanding that without an EPC that is current then they should not have rented the property - far  more to the point and taken rent from me. They commissioned an EPC 4 weeks & I am still waiting for or a copy!!! No gas in property. Well I guess it will be a case of instructing solicitors which I have tried to avoid doing but as they are not responding at all, I have no choice. If I am correct about EPC then it will cost them alot more than refunding me my rent.
    • Went there a couple of weeks ago and had their set lunch menu - very good value and generous portions. Sea bream was delicious .
