Quids. . If you have fucked my mum, feel free. Honestly i wont mind. My mum is 60 and you are what. . . 30 something? Big result mum. . . Not such a result for you. . . But making random stuff up just wont do

And dont be so cranky just because west ham are losing

And i am nice. Mostly.

Basically, Messrs Ross and Brand screwed-up.

You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who disagrees with that.

But surely it's up to the offended party to decide to what degree he's offended.

Maybe Sachs finds all the '78 year old man' stuff more offensive than the event itself. I would.

2 wrongs not making a right and all that, if I remember correctly Sachs portrayal of a dimwitted Spanish stereotype was deemed too offensive to air in(admittedly Francos fascist and reactionary)Spain...so at a guess thats 40 million offended Spaniards. Terrible.
Nobody thinks this is a massive publicity stunt by the BBC to inject some interest in two very unfunny 'comics' the BBC (and by definition, the licence payer) has put a great deal of money into and whose ratings are not taking off until now? Everyone does well from this, the papers, politicians, stars, has been stars and wannabe stars. We just pay for it and keep the whole show on the road. I'm not cynical, they are.
We are paying for them and have no say about what they do or say. It's a massive publicity stunt for the BBC and everyone involved. They're taking the piss. No one will suffer, they'll all do well out of this and we, the little people, will continue paying for it.

IIRC by monday the media were saying that they were up to 40 complaints, think the wall-to-wall coverage of it in the press has helped increase the complaints (remember a similar build-up occured after the poppadom-gate on Celeb BB a few years back).

In a way its understandable that the press have leapt onto this - I dare say their financial correspondents have never been so overworked before, and it has made a bit of a change.

If it had been so distressing to Andrew Sachs I'm sure it wouldn't have taken until the following week for it to be a news story, and I'm sure its more upsetting for him to be doorstepped as soon as he leaves home by a press pack than it was to listen to msg's left on his phone by a couple of overpaid/overgrown little boys.

It's not clear on the transcipts what is said in the voicemail and what is banter between them in the studio - while this doesn't completely clear them, it may explain why it took a while for the fuss happen.

have listened to the first one - did giggle several times, am wondering if they did actually leave the msg's or if they hung up the phone after hearing the beep (esp if Andrew Sachs only heard everything when listening to it on iplayer - if he can use that surely he'd normally be able to pick up his voicemails?)

Bukkake = spill forth, the connotation being linked almost exclusively to ramen/soba (waterfalls?)in Japanese.

Most Japanese would probably blink at you all puzzled if you mentioned the word (and possibly imagine you are hungry).

If you want to go for shock value, try googling "Butter dog" :)

    • I wonder whether his political epiphany and renaissance will stretch to him using his real name - James Ashworth-McLintock - rather than the more proletarian 'McAsh'. To my mind, the only people who should have self-bestowed mononyms are very talented Brazilian footballers - Pele, Kaka, Ronaldinho - very talented female pop icons - Madonna, Shakira, Sonia - or Russian revolutionaries - Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky. Sonia's greatest hits compilation, 'Greatest Hits', is out now on vinyl & CD through PWL Recordings.
    • Probably more helpful to ask simply whether McCash was affiliated with the Greens before becoming a Labour councillor. Trying to explain your thought process and unravel your fevered imagination (particularly when it comes to local politica) is the kind of thing that might require several years of psychoanalysis.
    • made the mistake of going to megans twice in DV.. would never make that mistake a 3rd time. Ditto I liked Romeo Jones a lot they did lovely soups and sandwiches and coffee too and such loveley staff.
    • Aren't most marxists radical by default...and he was a self proclaimed marxist on his twitter feed for years but deleted it as I suspect it did not sit well at Labour HQ. The big worry for Labour might be that he takes votes away from them (but not enough for him to win a seat) especially as there may be a significant protest vote against them at the national level as they are making such a pig's ear of things. I suspect though Labour are glad to see the back of him - to say he was a thorn in their side is an understatement and his loss of the leadership of the council was clearly part of the purge Labour has been embarking on to rid itself of some of the far-left lunatic fringe that have blighted them for so long. The Greens of course are willingly take any disaffected far-left Labour rejects in the same way Reform are hovvering up the lunatic elements of the Tories. The fact he went in with both barrels on Labour is hardly surprisingly but wonderfully hypocritical of someone who thought they were about to lead a Labour council. My how politicians flip-flop to suit their own personal agenda. How long before he falls out with the Greens...where to then? Why do I think he had an affiliation with the Greens before he became a Labour councillor? Or did I imagine that?
