Clair47
Hi,We have just found two fluffy bumble bee nests, nesting in the soffits of our property. I don't want them killed or block their hole up. As bees are important to us.I have read that if they aren't an inconvenience, to leave them. However one of them is above by my son's bedroom window. Some of them are huge fluffy ones.Any ideas as to how unwanted bees nests are dealt with? Clair47
Hi Dulwich Bee Keeper,That's brilliant to know.If we use the spray, will they just go and make a hive successfully somewhere else?If we leave it will they increase in numbers till September? Thanks for replying very helpful.Kind RegardsClair Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44451-fluffy-bumble-bee-nests/#findComment-747919 Share on other sites
kiera
The Bumblebee Conservation Trust's website contains information re. bumblebee nests.http://bumblebeeconservation.org/about-bees/habitats/bumblebee-nestsor you could phone them for advice. Your bees are probably tree bumblebees, as they are the only species to nest so high up - there is information about them on the website. I hope you decide to leave the nest to die out naturally. Best wishes. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44451-fluffy-bumble-bee-nests/#findComment-747945 Share on other sites

Clair47
Thanks that made me chuckle Dopamine1979.Emailed bee jet company they couldn't guarantee it would get rid of them. They said it may just pacify them.Think I will have to contact pest control to see if they can remove without harming them. We've had two big ones fly in and the back door was only open a little while.Love bees but a scaredy cat when they come to close.
