Niko the plumber - thumbs down!

I also spoke to him today to ask for a quote on tiling (and my house is finished to a A grade standard). I can vouch for him having phone issues, well he said he had anyway, and he has some personal issues now which will see him travel to Greece for a while - so my tiling will be put on hold and I dare say any plumbing jobs you might have for him.

I have him down as a good communicator (could argue too communicative!) so going missing doesn't sound right unless good reason.

I can vouch for Niko having phone issues as he helped me out a few days ago at short notice with a blocked drain that was causing my flat to flood. His phone crashed and he lost all his contacts and correspondence (he's a self confessed caveman when it comes to things techy) So if you owe him any payment, please contact him as he can't contact you! Oh and yes, think he's now away in Greece for a few days.

No connection, just been helped out by him a couple of times now.

I'm another in the positive column. Not only was Niko friendly, efficient and reliable when sorting out a problem we had recently, he also went out of his way to help us with another issue. We'd had a longstanding leak which had left us with a very damp cupboard. He lent us one of his dehumidifiers for a few days and wouldn't take any money for it. He is that rare thing - a good honest tradesman who is really genuine.

thank you jackwelts for your recommendation of michael he was excelent finnaly have my shower working properly. would reccomend him to anyone.

thanks again.

and for redpea who posted looking for someone if your still looking for a good plumber.

his contact number is 07956528763.

Niko did several jobs for me recently - not only was he super efficient, reliable (came when he said he would) and value for money but he is a really friendly guy who was easy to chat to and gave me advice for future reference in relation to plumbing issues. Even came to see us for an semi emergency job on a Sunday - what a legend! A great find on the ED forum.

    • Shame, she seemed a decent Transport Secretary, it's not as if Grant Shapps never did anything wrong.  It's also a shame that some seem to enjoy these sorts of revelations. She declared the offence so not sure why she needed to resign.  I thought that in the UK we had a culture of forgiveness.
    • It looks like indiscretions, crimes, incompetency etc  by MPs generates a lot of responses so it might be a good time to start a new thread every time a new scandal emerges. Heaven knows there are enough of them from all parties.
    • It's not Thames Water's responsibility to keep Peckham Rye free of water, no. But the recent works designed to to hold water in the park: “capturing about 6 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of surface water and releasing it very slowly”, where undertaken to stop houses from flooding. The increased risk of houses flooding is the result of a drainage and sewage system which are in dire need of upgrading / modernising, and unable to cope. And this, Thames Water are responsible for. We are paying for their under investment (over many, many years) in the drainage and sewage system; In cash terms - funding the works to modify the park, holding more water in it to, and through the loss of amenity that follows from the park being waterlogged more frequently.
    • Aria helped us out this week. He replaced ballcocks in our loft tanks. These had caused a leak whilst we were away on holiday. He also installed a new radiator. Responsive to our requirements. Communication was really good, costs reasonable.  Nice guy. Very happy to recommend.
