BrandNewGuy
Makes me suspect that everything will be pricy - like those shoe shops that only have four pairs of shoes on display, and you realise that those four pairs have to pay all the rent, rates, utilities and wages... hpsaucey
Damn - read the thread thinking it might be linked to the SOHO one. Never mind. holloway Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> i love the french house in soho, cidre breton is> one of my top ciders albeit to the disgust of my> west country mates. this new gaff on the lane is> bound to be a bar though?? Jah Lush
Wishful thinking. It would be great if we had a bar like that around here. Looks like it's going be another shop though. Bah! haruki
Not so sure it's a shop. When I peered in the other day it was laid out like a bar, a big shared table, trendy retro lighting etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44364-the-french-house/#findComment-747419 Share on other sites
jimbo1964
A French bar with delicious pression and French snacks could be great fun. Hope it's not an overpriced tat shop. BrandNewGuy
Hmmm, in my experience, your average French bar has generic lager on tap, two customers drinking the local vegetable spirit drink and a bookies in the back room. Can be fun, though, until you realise it shuts at 8.30. jimbo1964
If it had a bar like the bar in Gastro in Clapham and table football I'd be there like a shot. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44364-the-french-house/#findComment-747431 Share on other sites

Though not sure the "autre" is correct as is remembered from my French O level in, oh, 1965 :)) :)) :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44364-the-french-house/#findComment-747476 Share on other sites

Horsebox
There's a French House next to Parsons Green tube station. It's a dull warehouse space full of expensive looking furniture.I'd prefer the SE22 French House to sell beer and toasted ham & cheese sandwiches. spanglysteve
I wonder if it is linked to the French Cafe on Forest Hill Road, I love that place on a Sunday morning.
