Recommendation for Hunter Heating Solutions - 5* Service

Posted by LBird81 April 13, 10:08AM

I cannot speak highly enough of Hunter Heating Solutions. They installed an entirely new central heating system for us back in November as part of house renovations. Their workmanship and work ethic is unbeatable and the best I have come across. They completed the works quickly and efficiently, on time and remained tidy and respectful of our property as we were living in it. They are easy to communicate with and provide many options and information to make decisions. They are up to speed with the latest smart technologies for the home and were a pleasure to do business with.

They even go over an above in the winter if you have problems and respond quickly going over an above which is not something you see often these days.

Hunter heating solutions have just finished installing a new boiler, some new radiators & smart thermostats in my house. They provided a quote within a few days of visiting, started the job on time each day & were professional throughout. I can not recommend highly enough.

Recommending Billy Hunter Heating Solutions

Posted by Hep Yesterday, 08:40PM

Just to recommend Billy and his brother and team as excellent plumbers. They did a fairly big job in our house, replacing our old boiler, numerous tanks and heating system with a new unvented boiler system. They were a pleasure to have around and we are thrilled with the results. A truly excellent and professional service! Thank you Billy!

I would like to add to the many favourable reviews for Billy Hunter.

He is well organised, efficient and reliable. My boiler seemed at first to reqauire a simple service, that then needed another hour's attention. Billy worked hard to find the extra fault without complaint or extra charge. Thank you Billy.

Recommendation for Boiler Engineer - Billy Hunter at Hunter Heating Solutions

Posted by Galena Today, 04:39PM

Hunter Heating Solutions installed a new boiler at my home, works carried out by Billy Hunter and his apprentice Aaron. The new boiler was fitted in my kitchen (and the old boiler dismantled and removed from the hallway cupboard).

I found Hunter Heating Solutions on this forum and I can highly recommend them, they were very professional and they ensured that they cleaned up any mess each day. They also finished the works to my home ahead of schedule.

If you need a new boiler installed I would recommend that you contact them, their details are:

Thank you East Dulwich Forum. I contacted Billy after reading your glowing reviews on here. What a great recommendation.

Billy was great from the first visit, and initial communication to the quote and then the install Billy and his team were courteous, professional, and efficient. The standard of workmanship exceeded our expectations with levels of attention to detail we hadn't even considered. Both the quote and the estimate of the time needed to complete the job were spot on. In fact Billy finished the job at least a day earlier than expected and went above and beyond. His specialist advice on both choosing the radiators and their positioning, whilst listening to our requirements was second to none.

We had all new pipework through out and new rads throughout a 3 bed semi. 100% recommend to anyone needing any heating work done.

Recommendation - New boiler installation and removal of back boiler - Billy Hunter

Posted by BigED December 12, 12:24PM

Boiler/heating engineer recommendation

We recently had a new boiler installed by Billy Hunter of Hunter Heating Solutions (who we found via recommendations on the EDF).

It was a big piece of work - they had to remove the old back-boiler and gas fire in the living room and install a new combi-boiler in another room in a way that accommodates building work happening next year. They took out the old immersion heater and water tank in the roof too, ran new pipes hither and thither, cleaned up after themselves... And following some remedial work by Transco (the pressure from the gas mains was too low - nothing to do with Billy's work), we now have a fully working boiler and a house that's warm.

Billy responded quickly to emails and came round to talk us through options a second time when we decided we wanted to change the location for the incoming boiler. He may not be the cheapest on the market, but we got three contractors to visit, one never gave us a quote at all and another gave a higher quote, so Billy's quote was the lowest in our case and we are very happy with the work he and his colleagues have done.

Happy to answer PMs if you want more information.

Plumbing and heating recommendation

Posted by lemonellen Yesterday, 09:50PM

A quick note to say what a fab service I've had from Billy Hunter at Hunter Heating Solutions.

I noticed a mystery leak in the airing cupboard before xmas which was gradually getting worse. I found someone on here who came out to take a look then cancelled due to sickness for the next appointment, then failed to turn up (or return my calls) for the rescheduled time. By now it was the week before xmas and the problem was getting much worse.

I contacted Billy from the recommendations on here and he responded immediately and had visited and diagnosed the problem within 48hrs. He wouldn't accept a call out fee (it was a handyman repair required rather than a plumbing solution) but has since been to install a new radiator and a smart thermostat.

Everything was done quickly, efficiently and without any mess.

Billy and his team are quick, efficient, extremely knowledgable. I won't hesitate to use him again or recommend him.

Billy is great. I?ve used him and Scott for several jobs. Most recently today Billy fitted two new radiators and new values to some other radiators. He was clean and tidy and gave great advice. I completely trusted him when I was at work all day and he came especially early so I could leave on time. I?ll use him again and don?t hesitate to recommend him! Thank you Billy.
I hired Billy based on the recommendations in this thread. He extended the flue on my boiler. It turned into a tough job because whoever installed the boiler ten years ago did a rubbish job fixing it to the wall and the boiler came loose when the flue was detached. Billy and his colleague remounted the boiler properly and completing the original job. He did not charge extra and the bill came within the range he gave as an estimate. Billy and his colleague were pleasant to deal with and tidied up after themselves. My only minor complaint is that he was very busy so it took a while to book him, which is probably a good sign. I will be hiring him next time I need work done.

Billy and Scott both did work for us - most recently, Billy and his colleague fitted a new boiler for us. It was a bit complex as we didn't want the flue to come out directly to the front entrance of our home. What we really appreciated about both the brothers was that they took the time to empathetically listen to our concerns - they really cared! and they went the extra mile to think of creative solutions, which resulted in a clean job of drilling through our second floor and getting the flue out to a more disreet exterior location.

Thanks so much to you both - we will definitely be calling on your services again for future needs!

Hi

Just wanted to drop a note to anyone who is looking for anything from a simple boiler/radiator check up to a full boiler replacement, the brothers (Scott and Billy) at Hunter Heating Solutions are fantastic. They're professional and friendly and, more importantly, guys I can trust especially given my family and I are based overseas.

Thanks

Nick

I just wanted to add to the recommendations for Hunter Heating Solutions. Billy and Scott Hunter put in a new boiler, heating and hot water system in our house. It proved to be a more a complicated job but Billy was very good at explaining to us what was going on at every step. He and Scott + their team were very neat and tidy and spent a lot of time making sure everything was right. There was an unexpected problem with the pressure and Billy came back and spent a day fixing the issue and installing extra kit. What was really nice was how good the communication was - we were away for a week but Billy set up a WhatsApp group where he sent us messages and videos over what was happening. Cant recommend Billy and his team highly enough. We will be using them for further work as well as servicing the system.

thanks

Another glowing review for Billy from me and a thank you to the forumites who posted previous recommendations for him, he is a real find. He did a great job fitting a hot water cylinder, improved pipework and removed old water tanks for us as well as moving pipework around for our renovation. He obviously takes great pride in his work and we now have a seemingly never-ending supply of hot water which is wonderful. Billy is polite, tidy, helpful, trustworthy and a very nice man. Thank you Billy.

    • OK, I have been extremely stupid. This is a long and sorry saga, so unless you are into schadenfreude,  or know about laptops and might actually be able to help, you probably need to stop reading here. I got a new laptop last May, with a 2 year guarantee from John Lewis (that was my first mistake, but the laptop met all my requirements at a very good price). I hate OneDrive, and I  had been using Carbonite for backing up files.  When I got the new laptop, the files from my old laptop which had been backed up on Carbonite were downloaded onto it. For tedious reasons originally related to problems with my old laptop, files and folders were duplicated all over the place. Sorting this out wasn't top of my priorities. In an attempt to at least keep new files,  and files edited since I bought the laptop, in one place and completely separate from all the old duplicated  files, I saved them all into folders  on the SSD. However, I didn't restart the Carbonite backup, because my intention was to sort out all the duplicate files first. About a fortnight ago, I bought an external hard drive. My intention was to copy everything on the new laptop onto it before I started deleting any of the duplicate files. I hadn't done that yet because I had to finish doing my accounts and then do my online tax return. So the copying was next on my To Do list. The inevitable happened. Out of the blue, my laptop went into complete meltdown. I was editing a spreadsheet and went into settings to turn the brightness up. I checked the brightness was ok on the spreadsheet, came out of settings, and suddenly everything went black. I did all the obvious things, then googled other possible fixes, including specific to my laptop model, but nothing worked. On starting the laptop, the Lenovo logo came up, the little white circle turned round, the red light for face recognition flashed, then zilch.  But clearly it wasn't a problem with the physical screen, as it displayed the logo. It wouldn't start in safe mode either. I thought I might either have accidentally changed some setting, or else it might be connected with a recent update  I couldn't try some of the tests suggested, eg removing RAM, because anything involving physically unscrewing my laptop would invalidate the guarantee  I am a member of Which Tech, so I contacted them. Obviously their hands were rather tied as they couldn't connect remotely to the laptop as there was no display. They said I couldn't have clicked on some other setting by mistake, as the display section only related to the display. They said they thought it was probably an issue with either the operating system or the mother board, or a component of them. They said it should be possible to identify the fault without losing my data. Given the involvement of John Lewis, I said I thought this was unlikely, as they had once told me to do an unnecessary factory reset on my old laptop and told me this wouldn't lose my data, which I had queried at the time,  and had to pay me compensation. So at this point I phoned John Lewis, to be told a repair would take "up to 28 working days" and no they wouldn't supply a replacement laptop during that time. I decided to take the laptop to John Lewis rather than have it collected, so their tech people could look at it first. So then the JL tech person said I must have clicked on  Bitlocker by mistake and locked myself out out of the laptop. I thought this was highly unlikely. Anyway, pursuing this line of thought did not help, and she was still unable to get into it by putting in the Bitlocker code. So then we had the data saving conversation. She said the company the laptop would go to was approved by Lenovo. She said they would do a factory reset first regardless. I said could they not try to identify the fault first. She said no. I said could I not request that they did. She said no. She said I could pay £150 for data retrieval, which could be done first. She said it would require removing the hard drive. She said if anybody else did this it would invalidate the guarantee. So. I have brought the laptop home to think things over. But I'm not willing to pay £150,  because the important files I can reconstruct by other means, and I have hard copies of most of them, it's just a time consuming pain. I have contacted Carbonite to see if they have any way of backing up the non backed up data even though I can't get into the laptop. If you have managed to reach the end of this post, congratulations 🤣 and do you have any bright ideas? I have typed all this on my mobile. It has taken a very very long time 🤣
    • I thought I saw some TW workmen there when it first happened last weekend but maybe it's too big for them to fix and they can't switch the mains off there without shutting all the businesses down.

    • Off the top of my head, there are notice boards in Sainsbury's and the library where small businesses can advertise, not to overlook the internet and forums such as this which these days is where very many go to first for small business information. I find it strange that you are mounting this crusade to allow small businesses the right to advertise in the Community noticeboards when there are so many alternatives these days. As I said before, the Community noticeboards are too small to accommodate commercial notices and would probably overwhelm and obscure the NFP notices. For info, during the week there is just as broad a mix passing by the NXR boards as the one by the station
