The Mayans certainly had a strategy.


However, they wouldn't have been able to resolve the fact that the earth doesn't go around the sun in fixed multiples of the time it take the earth to revolve on its axis.


If you want time to work on an annual basis, then you need to accept that 3pm will be a moveable feast, as it were.

I thought it was introduced to save energy during war time, does it save energy?


I believe in the 70s they tried to do away with it, but were prevented because of the Scottish farmers lobbying against it, but I might well be wrong as my memory is not reliable enough to back money on.

You have just gone right down in my estimation. Cher? Was it those fishnets and all those sea men?
