cella
Came home tonight just before 8.30pm and saw a man urinating up against the mural behind Hinkley Road. He saw me walking by on the path and I shouted at him and waved my phone to show I had taken a picture of him and his highly anti social behaviour. His reaction was to laugh, wave his privates at me and then he just walked off. He was well dressed in a suit and tie and it wasn't yet dark so he obviously didn't care who witnessed this. Outrageous. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/44147-anti-social-behaviour-a-man-urinating/ Share on other sites
KidKruger
Do you mean his suit was good and with his tie was a stylish combination or that he was well-dressed because (italics) he was wearing a suit n tie ? A while ago someone posted a photo of someone accused of taking a dump on the floor of the gents in the EDT, but it had to be taken down. cella
Well it was more about the public place he had chosen and he obviously didn't care about who might be passing by. It also seems very disrespectful to the local artist. There also seems to be an increase in men urinating in the street when there are many other places they could ask to use - it's what women have to do after all - so it's very lazy too. first mate
healey, your tone suggests that urinating in public, against a work of art and then waving your genitalia at anyone who dares to object is more or less acceptable- no evidence at all that he was drunk. Don't think the OP is being OTT in their response, if someone is genuinely caught short they should try to find somewhere unobtrusive and perhaps apologise to anyone that happens to see them. Pugwash
The lack of public loos in ED have been around for many years. It was suggested that loos be put near the Electricity sub station in North X Road but this never happens. Ok whilst some pubs and cafes do not mind people using their loos with purchasing something first, others don not. Some people have a medical problem with holding their urine so rarely go out due to lack of public loos. Louisa
Oh for goodness sakes. All of you holier than thou hypocrites are you honestly telling me you've never been caught short? Yes it's against the law, yes there's a possible fine blah blah blah. If you are desperate enough to need the loo, and let's say have a medical condition and need to take water tablets and are caught short in an area with no public lavatories you may be forced to find a quiet spot to urinate or else soil your under garments. Mountain out of a molehill. Also, to the OP, why would you not wait until the person finished their business and then politely informe them what they were doing was wrong or maybe ask why they were doing it in a public place? Direct them to a toilet for future reference? It's beyond me this post, sorry. Shouting loudly and waving your phone is provocative surely? Hardly diplomatic. Louisa. Mustard
He could have gone into Flying Pig and used their loo, as he was urinating up against their wall. cella
Louisa your strong defence of this person is a bit startling. I don't think it was a case of a medical condition or that he was drunk, rather he was urinating in a public place and not down an alley somewhere. He didn't apologise or display any shame or embarrassment for his actions in a place where many people pass regularly and just laughed at me. Perhaps if it was your own front was then you may have reacted differently. If you really do think that I was in the wrong and should have waited until he finished and then try to counsel him in a diplomatic fashion then I find that attitude astonishing. I prefer to believe that we have evolved somewhat and that there is no excuse for this sort of unsocial behaviour. mako
On what basis have you decided he didnt have a medical condition or was drunk? I think judging someone shouting at them and photographing them when they are relieving themselves also is anti-social.
