I bought two to keep as pets for my son, they were very weak to begin with but as they hydrated they rapidly turned into great big juicy slimey things, I prefered them dehydrated if I'm honest.

I'd forgotten that snails are hermarphrodites, when reminded and after a bit of research found out that they are capable of producing thousands of offspring. They rapidly went down in my recommendation of a good pet after hearing that, well a pair anyway.

I had them for about a month. They died after my son let them near some MDF, unfortunately.

Cooking? just like any other snail, I would imagine, I couldn't eat them though a whelk is as far as I go.
