nunheadmum
My daughter has had it in her head now for months that she wants a clown party. At 6, they're probably too young for all out circus skills but maybe a bit too old for simply someone singing some songs in a clown outfit. Anyone used an entertainer for this kind of thing and got any recommendations? edanna
You could try contacting Sue at http://www.kidsentertainers.net and ask who is particularly good on circus skills. I think Sue herself used to work in circus so she would know. redjam
We hired Juggling Joolz a while ago and she was great - balloon animals, magic, juggling etc. Her show was perfect for that age. hazelnunhead
We used Nick (lathough spoke and organised with James) from http://www.pressplay.org.uk/ from Pressplay Productions.Nick was absolutely fabulous, entertaining over 20 children for 2 hours, showing them how to balance peackock feathers, spin plates, use diablos's, juggle and ride pedalo'sI organised this with James, he responded to all my emails, and they were great to work with.Would recommend if you were looking for a circus skills party ..... treehugger
I don't want to put a damper on this idea, but I arranged a clown party for my daughter when she was 4 and ever since (she is 21 now), she has had a phobia about clowns.... nunheadmum
Just an update - we used Pressplay as per Hazelnunhead's recommendation and the party was brilliant. Circus skills rather than a clown. James pitched it perfectly for the age-group - easy for those who needed it but little tests for the more able. Could see it being adapted and working well for older kids too. Kids comments included "best party EVER", "wish we could do it again!". Happy kids, happy mum!
