Ant
The short answer is that no one knows, nice1two. There have been plenty of threads on the subject but nothing definite ever comes up, just rumour and/or humour. Nero
I contacted Tesco some time ago and it told me there was going to be no store there. One local shop owner says there will be space for four or five units there. On paper, that part of the lane could be great. The pavements are wide, the housing stock directly opposite is large and Victorian, and it's near to an improved pub and the library, which is a handsome building, even if you don't use it. Right now, it's a bit low-rent. A few trees, shops (for all those people who live up the hill from the Magdala) and maybe a cafe could do it? It's very near to the high-end Woodwarde/Eynella/Townley Rd types, who might like the idea of being able to shop nearer to home. Here's hoping.
