Rate per hour

Anyone know the going rate per hour for a manual labourer? I need 4 for two days for a digging job.

And is there another pool of prospective labourers that the congregation outside B&Q on the Old Kent Road?

?120 each per day would be the proper rate, but somehow I think you won't pay that.

We pay the lads who do our odd jobs including labouring ?15 ph and if extra difficult ?20 ph.

I wouldn't use the workers who hang around the d.i.y stores. Most likely to be illegal and unlikely to pay tax.

It depends on how skilled and efficient they are. It is hard to find god builders in London at the moment, but I would expect to pay at least ?140. ?200 a day for an experienced labourer

I pay my son in law and his mate ?15 per hour plus endless cups of coffee, pies/sandwiches from the bakers and they are happy. Sometimes I pay them by the day or the job - depends on what they are doing for me

There's also the inclement British weather to consider, snow/rain stops play, but even so, ?200/day is very generous, no wonder East European labour has become popular...

You should be able to find labourers for ?15 per hour (?120 per day) without resorting to going to the B&Q car park (which I wouldn't recommend). Suggest you post something in the businesses section asking for people to contact you if interested.
