nunheadbelle
Oh, and I read somewhere else relating to the same story, that she is complaining that it is too big to clean. She can probably claim for a cleaner too. We have lots of cleaners on here offering their services, perhaps somebody can apply for the job. Huguenot
If she's been here seven years already then the Taliban would have been in power when she left her home country. She would have left because as a woman she had no identity or rights. She would not have been entitled to education, and neither would her female offspring. She would have been required to completely cover herself when leaving the house and be accompanied by a man (her owner) at all times, under threat of legal execution at the hands of passers-by.Had she been raped, she would have been murdered for her crime. In short, she was treated worse than a dog.It would have had nothing to do with western aggression, which only kicked off after 9/11 in support of an existing civil war and was limited to camps in the south known to train people who target civilians in pursuit of the above expansionist medieval doctrine.NATO didn't take control of security until 2003, and even then managed to create peaceful elections in 2005.The current security breakdown is realistically only a couple of years old, and is a reflection of Iran's increased desire to dominate the local political environment. As with UK commercial imperialism from previous centuries, Iran is aggressively expansionist (as their evangelical religion cannot exist without the fight of the faithful). Iran has merely taken advantage of the high price of oil and the balls-up in Iraq to start wars on three fronts: southern Iraq, Afghanistan and the Lebanon. nunheadbelle
Well she's adapted well; there was a photo of her smiling in the doorway and she wasn't covered up, just wearing what looked like Western style clothes. *Bob*
I heard she owns eight cars - including a Bentley. And she doesn't even have to wipe her own arse - she just phones the council and they send someone round to do it - at taxpayers expense.Honestly - this country is going DOWN THE PAN. ratty
My mate rents privately from a private landlord and HB pay his exhorbitant rent - then him and his landlord carve it up between them and this increases his benefits by over ?200 a month!Nice work if you can get it. Huguenot
Well, we probably shouldn't let the buck stop there. We can pursue tit-for-tat down there from Darius in 500BC, Alexander in 300BC, the Romans around 100sBC, Mahmud of Ghazni in the 1000sAD, Genghis Khan in 1200sAD, the Brits in 1800sAD, the Ruskies etc. etc.Bear in mind that it's a bit grim so no-one wants to stick around, and the proximity of the fertile northern India plains and mineral rich Middle East, and you have a recipe for diaster. Why blame the Yanks? Keef
But it's the mother not the landlord being villifiedI'm not so sure, it's obviously not sympathetic to her as such, but I think it's having more of a go at the Landlord.Taxpayers hit by the credit crunch fund the swish seven-bedroom home enjoyed free by Afghan migrant Toorpakai Saindi and her family. And her landlord is raking in rent of more than ?12,000 a month from a local council ? funded by taxpayers. That?s DOUBLE the normal market value of the seven-bedroom property, located in a swish West London street peppered with the Mercedes and BMW cars of private owners. Raking it in ... Ajit Panesar is making a fortune from rent RE: Kids sharing rooms, there are 7 kids, so a couple must be (she needs a room too), and the youngest is 8, so it may well be that the council couldn't legally insist on any others sharing, as there are laws about sharing over certain ages (sorry I can't remember exect ages now, and don't have time to look it up). SeanMacGabhann
If it isn't the intention to vilify the mother, then they have failed miserably. Look up her name in google and read some (ok, most) of the comments posted by peopleIt would take a more generous soul than me to assume that wasn't the intent of publishing an article like this Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4322-mother-of-all-council-houses/page/2/#findComment-138522 Share on other sites
Keef
Look up her name in google and read some (ok, most) of the comments posted by people I can't be bothered Sean, but can imagine what is said. Those things would be said by those people whatever was written because they are tw@ts! As I said, it's certainly not sympathetic to her, but it doesn't openly vilify, it just says enough to let the readers (and they know who their target readers are) make their own minds up and get riled. Intention is not what I was talking about!I still think it has a go at the landlord and the council more than her. James
Totally agreeing with Sean's posts, and thought the 1984 clip was especially relevant. The tabloids are masters in the art of distraction, dredging up stories like this. The Sun's agenda at the moment seems to be driven by attempts to portray Brown's administration as soft on scroungers and "broken Britain." (What a coincidence that Cameron now has a social agenda.) All this distracts us from the fact that the biggest issue facing us is the credit crunch - in part caused by a laissez-faire attitude to the City - which the Tories would have pursued even further. Strangely the Sun is silent on this subject. Jeremy
I don't blame the mother for moving into a nice house which the council offered her for free. Most people would do the same. Blame the council, and the landlord charging the crazy rent.Let's not get into the discussion about the war in Afghanistan, Taleban, bombed homes, persecution, etc because it's pure speculation at best.
