Growlybear
There have been several telephone boxes that have been converted to community libraries, and I think it's a nice idea if they aren't being used regularly. I was quite surprised to see that permission was given for the Brockley telephone box to be converted, as I thought almost all of the remaining K2 phone boxed had been given Grade II listed status. Earl Aelfheah
Grade II only effects the outside appearance of a structure, so wouldn't effect a change to the inside. I really like this idea. Maybe it's one for cleaner, greener, safer funding? Bic Basher
Do we have any of the K2 boxes remaining in ED? The only ones I can think of is the phone box on the corner of Sydenham Hill and London Road by Horniman Park and in Dulwich Village. ianr
I've seen this implemented in a couple of station waiting rooms, which we don't have. Do the phone box exchanges survive functionally in the wild? david_carnell
There's one in Peckham on Lyndhurst Grove by the Academy. Not sure it would survive the school kids though...
