Can anyone recommend any woods that are not that far away - apart from Sydenham Hill? Love those woods but looking for a change...

One Tree hill in Honor Oak

Russia dock woodland at Surrey Quays is nice. Make sure you walk to the top of Stave hill - lovely views!

Scadbury nature reserve is not too far.

Not woods but the Rookery on Streatham common is nice.

We are going to Box Hill in a few weeks and I can't wait, looks wonderful but much further afield. Farther away we also love Ashdown Forest...

Wimbledon Common and Putney Heath (a 37 bus will get you directly to the latter). In the other direction, Falconwood station is next to Shepherdleas and then Oxleas Woods. All about 40 min journey time with the wind in the right direction.
