bubbachumps
I am looking to grow a camomile lawn but apparently it's unsuitable for heavy clay soils. I am a gardening novice and can't tell if our soil is clay or chalky. Any ideas what's prevalent in East Dulwich? Or has anyone successfully grown a small camomile lawn?Any advice gratefully received! Sue
Chamomile lawns aren't great if you're intending to walk on them a lot anyway - they get patchy and then weedy - so maybe you've had a lucky escape :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/42927-ed-soil-type/#findComment-736523 Share on other sites
Hagrid
hiya you've probably got a few inches of top soil with clay base below. Just put some sand in the ground (mixed in and flattened), a bit of loam and as as per Sue's comment work out how your going to walk across it i.e. flag stones. You may also want to try sedum mats if you don't want to water.
