ackroyd
I completely agree with Derek and ShaleneV. Why is this being seen as a "bitter battle"? From some of the rather petty comments on here there seems to be political point scoring going on by some parties when the real focus should be on the very positive news that it sounds as if at least 2 bids will be submitted and that the community should win either way if a high quality new school opens. At the end of the day isn't that what parents, young people and the community want? Otta
Of course, but can you really not see why James and the rest of the steering group might be feeling a bit hacked off having given God knows how many hours to considering applications, only for the second placed lot to just decide that they're going to ignore that outcome altogether and basically rubbish it.I do agree though that it would be useful to know what criteria was used by the steering group to make their decision. Rolo Tomasi
I went to the Charter (when it was William Penn)and left in 1990. Great school when I was there (bias) but all went pretty wrong soon after.Oldest neice left Askes last year and thorougly enjoyed herself. Great support from the teachers when needed and did extremely well in her GCSE's. Second neice hoping to go next year but may opt for Prendergast instead.
