Nigello
According to @chaseKevin on Twitter, an air ambulance has landed near to Peckham Rye station. There's a suggestion it involved an incident on a bus, but this hasn't been sourced. RT by @peckhampeculiar (and me). Penguin68
I think the correct term here is 'rubber-necker' or even, more strongly, 'ghoul' unless you have a pecuniary interest in other's misfortune. KidKruger
"Yes, but aren't a good proportion of people in this country "quite weird and sick?" = 'well, everyone else is doing it'.....same reasoning used in Nazi Germany and for the Southern United States lynchings. intexasatthe moment
Well ,gossip or rubber necking ,I'm grateful for the thread .My mum lives just off Rye Lane and being very elderly is getting a little muddled and anxious about things . She often hears noises in the night and wonders what they are ,details about incidents in the area help me relate to her .She was recently convinced that a full scale rehearsal for evacuating the area in the event of flooding had taken place over night .You might think that knowing there'd been a stabbing ,traffic accident or whatever is no help but at least I know there is often some real basis for her concerns .Sometimes I can even reassure her .
