We have got same problem at the min . Myself and my boyfriend have been having same problem since Sunday . We have been on to 02 last 2 few days . They have sent us out new sim . Put new sim in today and it still happening . We though it might Been an area thing as we live on bottom sydenham hill .
Ok so I did live chat with O2 support and have to say they were very helpful. Was told it was a problem they were aware of and were working on. As I am on a plan where I only have limited text allowances, I asked them if I'd get back my allowance for the wasted sent texts. I was told for every text sent where multiples were sent I'd get back those texts - hope that makes sense! They also got me to reset all my settings, take out SIM card and wipe it and gave me a code to call from my phone. Not sure what all that did however since then I have been sending texts without any problems.
Oh this is me too! My out going texts are saying failed, but apparently been sent 7/8 times and I can't receive messages! Glad to know it's not just me, thought my phone died - but had noticed it had worked in London earlier in the week. Off sick now and feel like no contact with the outside world as a result :( That might be seen as a good break too :)
Spoke again with O2 this morning who began by saying there was no fault in the area and it must be a fault with my phone. I showed her the online conversation I'd had with O2 on Friday where they said there was a fault in the area, and how they had checked my phone and ruled out any problems with it. I also told he about the EDF and all the other people who were reporting the same problems. At first she persisted with the fact it was my phone and yet again went through all the unnecessary checks. I insisted that it MUST be an area problem as as soon as I went outside of the area, my texts sent properly. Anyway, upshot is she will log it with the engineers but as not many people have apparently reported it, it is not seen as urgent. So, if you're experiencing these problems, please report it to O2 to escalate the urgency!

has anyone else been charged extra by O2 for sending text messages with emoticons in them?

I get 'free' text messages but noticed they were charging more each month and when I queried it, they explained that whenever I use an emoticon they treat that as a multimedia message which is chargeable if I go over a limit. Wasn't exactly clear in the small print. Their adviser told me to use facebook messenger and whatsapp instead (I already do).

I know I deserve all I get for using :) :)) :(

(sorry if this is slightly off topic, just being nosey)

Blue - I was sending as SMS (or so I thought), thanks for that didn't know that mms wasn't inclusive.

SJ - no I didn't type a smiley, I downloaded the emoji keyboard and I use that (mainly for the emojis that aren't smileys). am using whatsapp much more now but if there's a rubbish signal it doesn't work well.

    • There's been a spate of phone snatching around East Dulwich station and along Lordship Lane. But don't let that put you off the area, these things come and go. I've never had an issue late at night in the areas you talk about and I've been around here for 18yrs (before I moved I had the same concerns as you). Go visit your areas late at night at different times for your own peace of mind (I did)
    • Posted September 20, 202Hello all Hello all Just a quick message to say I've just had a job postponed so I have some time available to do some work for you if you should need a painter around the end of the month. I also do a variety of other jobs too so if anyone needs a handyman, please feel free to get in touch. Happy to do a free quote. Thanks for reading
    • So sorry to hear this. Our bike was stolen from outside Dulwich Library earlier this month. We had a D Lock and they still got through. Probably the same person who’s just cruising up and down the lane. I hope you find it.
    • Hi, I would like to raise some awareness around East Dulwich especially on Lordship lane.  Today my bike electric bike was stolen from in front of my house between the hours of 9:00 and 10:45. If anyone see anything I would be very grateful.  Please do not use a chain lock to lock your bike. Preferably a d-lock. My bike was double locked with two chains and they still manage to take it. Be careful and be aware of Thief.  Here are some pictures of my bike. If you see or hear anything I would really appreciate it.
