SHE'S BEEN FOUND!

Turns out that that the Au Pair didn't realise that the dog had actually made it to the Kiddies Playground with her. Nutty as it sounds... Anyway friends of friends found her hanging out where she had been left 4-5 hours before. What a dog!

Thanks to everyone who helped

Original post :

At about 11am this morning (Friday 26th) our Au Pair, laden with two kids accidentally left our dog on the no.40 Bus. She got off the bus on Lordship Lane near Plough Homecraft. The bus was near the end of it's journey and would have stopped/turned around near Dulwich Library before going on it's journey back towards Aldwich. via ED/ Lordship Lane. She's a good dog that normally stays close by and she wasn't on a lead but is wearing a collar with our contact details on and she has a microchip in her. I have attached her picture. She's a scruffy looking Black and White Jack Russell/ Whippet cross and is about 10 years old (has a graying muzzle) and people think she;s older than she really is. Has anyone seen her, perhaps you saw her on the bus and didn't realise that she was missing or walking the streets anywhere really. We don't believe that she would have got off the bus on her own. Obviously we've been searching and doing everything we can and will continue to do so. We'd be very grateful for any information.

Yes she frequents Peckham Rye- we live just up the road. Thanks for everyone's support.3. Yes we have informed Battersea Dogs Home ( police aren't interested) she's on the missing dogs list and since's microchipped they also are aware that she's missing. Thanks
Ah, what a lovely happy end to that story. Can't believe your (very cute) dog waited all that time! As you say, worra dog! Though, um, not so impressed with your au pair - let's hope it's not one of your kids she forgets next time. (Not that there haven't been occasions I haven't been tempted to leave mine on the bus...)

The dog never actually got left on the bus as it turned out. The Au Pair had taken her to the park and just completely forgotten that she was there, didn't see the dog when she was leaving and then went into a blind panic... she is convinced she is loosing her marbles. I don't think we'll ever work out what exactly happened but the beast is back and that's all that counts. The dog's absolutely fine by the way.

    • There has already been pages of discussion about this. Please read the whole thread if you haven't already. These are community notice boards and not for the use of  local commercial businesses. I need this to be quite clear before I spend  time on it, because if they are to be used for commercial purposes then I am not willing to be involved at all, and shan't be speaking to Monica
    • It is worth trying even if you fail. If you appeal they normally stop the clock on the increased fine (check that’s this case with this one). Sounds like you had acted reasonably and in good faith. Unfortunately that doesn’t always cut it. There is advice online about appealing them.
    • A few weeks ago I parked in the parking space at the lordship lane end of Matham Grove.  It is free to park there for 30 mins but you have to register on the pay by phone app.  For which you pay a 20p admin fee - which is outrageous in itself. Anyway I put it on the app and was gone no longer than 10 minutes. When I came back I found a warden issuing a ticket.  I said that I had registered but when I opened the app there was just a wheel going round so there was a glitch with the app. The warden said that he had seen me leave my car so agreed I had not been longer than the allocated free time and did not warrant a ticket, but said he could not take the ticket back once issued but that our conversation was on record and I should appeal. so I did. I provided a photo of the app with the screen going around and which had timings on it.  My appeal has been rejected. Because I had not paid for parking which is free!!! to add to the confusion the 30 mins free parking sign had fallen off - see attached photo of the sign on both sides of Matham grove.    What I would like to know is do you think I should appeal the fine or pay the £55 fine now before it doubles??
    • Nadia has helped us evolve our garden from a fairly unloved space to a stunning oasis the last few years. She’s brilliant at giving great advice on how to keep up her good work, advising on planting and doing some kind of witchcraft to make all the flowers bloom and the fruit grow on the trees. Lovely, hardworking and respectful team. Would recommend 100%
