When visiting family in Wiltshire we came across a great garden centre with a cafe and children's play centre - climbing frame, sand pit and ride on tractors etc.

I am a keen gardener and I was just wondering does anyone know of anything like this within easy driving distance of ED/London i.e. 40mins to an hour?

Have a look at these - we now live 40 mins out to the south east of ED in Kent and frequent garden centres for entertainment now - who knew?!?

Coolings has a nature trail, shop, cafe and tractors/diggers all on a fairly small scale, Polhill is huge and has organic veg and meat, toys, a playground, fish and good pizza!

    • I think that's about it.  I know 1pmobile.com do £10 for 60days, or £48/yr, both of which include substantial usage if you need it. PS just checked.  £5 in it too for each of us if you want a referral.
    • Oh. I've been looking into this (online) and it seems I would still have to pay something (at least a fiver)  every month even if I wasn't using the phone, because they all seem to be 30 day rolling contracts. Have I misunderstood? I need something for emergency use only.
    • There is a reason why I think only England and Chile (no idea why) have a fully privatised national water set-up, and why the UN recognises the right to water as a human right - "the right to water entitles everyone to have access to sufficient, safe, acceptable, physically accessible, and affordable water for personal and domestic use".   Whoever is running pension funds should be shifting sharply, if they haven't done so already (and I'm sure they haven't for the most part).
    • I’d have gone for ‘scorned’.
