bon3yard
I use a small rocket pack, it gets me in and out in a couple of minutes tops like some kind of airborne Ninja. Peckhamgatecrasher
It would benefit from dedicated IN and OUT signs - that would alleviate some of the confusion. shoshntosh
not trying to cause outrage here but i think, because it's a tiny tesco (like a sainsbury's LOCAL)that it's really designed to be approached on foot, rather than by car. if travelling by car, obviously sainsbury's -- with the gargantuan carpark -- is a better choice. seanmlow
Yes, but if it wasn't meant to be used by the car driver, why provide a car park? I was just saying it is hard to move in and out as cars often park on the side bit blocking it up. TillieTrotter
Also Shosh, when all you need is a pint and a loaf at 7am it's convenient to pop into. Not so convenient when you pop back out and you've been hemmed in by other cars. Hey ho, really shouldnt run out of milk so often.:-$ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/4203-tesco-on-ed-road/#findComment-134085 Share on other sites
KalamityKel
Anyone would think it was the only shop in the world and was miles away where certainly the only means by which one can get there is by car... TillieTrotter
Really Kel!! It's a local convenience store that I happen to use on the odd occasion not a big deal! nunheadbelle
It's really only a 'pop in' supermarket for convenience and you'll find that people usually just pop in. When I go there and there are no spaces, I just wait a few minutes and someone will come back to their car. Also, a lot of people park there just to get money out of the cash machine. Car parks are a way of enticing customers to the store really, otherwise it would mean them havng to park in one of the side roads (if you can find one without yellow lines).Talking of car parks, Somerfield really should have a car park and they'd get more customers. Even the small car park that Iceland has encourages people to shop there. SeanMacGabhann
again, not true MP, as you know...it just seem self-defeating for people who want more space on the roads to encourage more cars on the roads... SeanMacGabhann
ah, that'll explain it.. ;-)Back to imposter-Sean tho. Sean - you work around the corner, why the need to drive and park in this particular car park? Taking a space of some poor old granny or some such... healthy young man like you. Jeremy
The little Tesco is useful if you live nearby, or happen to be driving past. But if you're making a special journey by car, then you may as well go to Sainsbury's as their food is much better. Personally the only time I use the Tesco is on Sunday evenings, when the alternatives are limited.Similar argument for Somerfield - why provide a car park? If you're going to drive, you're better off going the extra half mile to Sainsburys.
