Hi everyone,

My first post, couldn't find an active thread on this topic, so am starting a new one....

Does anyone know whats happening with the Concrete House on L Lane? I know its being managed by Hexagon as affordable apartments... I believe some sort of shared ownership scheme. I think this is brilliant - so needed in London, and it was such a pleasure to see the place restored to glory.

However - its still empty, and has been since the refurb was finished.... I was hoping for there to be new tenants and see activity in that place for the first time in so many years... but its still empty. Anyone know why?

Cheer!

    • We purchased our 4 bed semi in ED in 1975  it had been reduced by £500 for quick sale and was  £16,500!, Original owner lived on first floor but let out rooms downstairs. We had to do considerable redecoration and some alterations to adapt it to 3 elderly relatives with mobility issues, plus myself, partner and toddler.  I was joint owner with my elderly aunt and after her death, we had to get a small mortgage to pay out some of her bequests. My neighbour's house was on the market for £1.4 million but his place was far better condition than mine. I agree that many folk are asset rich but cash poor .

    • The incident I quoted on 28th October - I had to pick up some forms for blood  test and happened to mention my leg to the receptionist whilst I was there. Fully expected to be given an appointment - and was surprised that I was passed to one of the practice nurses who obviously felt the situation was urgent hence the TJ appointment. Went for flu jab recently and seen by Mem HCA. Have seen him a few times now for routine BP/Diabetic checks- Very easy to get on with and gives you time.
    • But no one's arguing that pollution is bad and can cause asthma in children.
