Volume and its controls. Especially on my computer. So, there I am, listening to i-toons and it has it's own volume settings. Then I have my computer's own volume control. Then I have external speakers which have another one again. And all of them need adjusting constantly. Why is this necessary? I want a big fat twizzle knob (no laughing) on the front of my box (stoppit) that adjusts the ONE volume for everything.

And don't get me started about why some things are just louder than others. From one song to the next. Nothing has changed and yet my ears are now bleeding.....

Sorry David but, despite instructions, I'm laughing at you.

What about watching telly and then the ads come on and the volume suddenly sky rockets. That shouldn't be legal. Seriously. I think it's illegal to put subliminal messages into bradcast programmes (The Young Ones did it in the 80s and got into trouble) and that's no worse than pumping up the volume for ads.

Well despite you laughing at me it appears we agree. Good.

Varying volumes.....most annoying. Opinion formers, decsion makers - take note. We want volume to stay the same unless we alter them. And we want one volume alteration control. Not more than one. Just one.

Oh, grrr, now you've made me think of more.....my TV is connected to a DVD player and a set-top box and they all have their own controls. And the whole kit and caboodle is connected to an AV amp which has another one. I need a lie down.

the credit crunch / recession - now that we only have one income coming in that is starting to p*ss me off..

People with luggage when commuting, I know I has to be done but its the inconsiderate ones that always seem to be in your way, let their bag drag 2 miles behind them and then have a go at you when you accidently know their bag when trying to get around them..

people that accidentally txt you, you then point out that its not you you guess theyre meant to b contacting but they insist it is and then continue to send several messages that just dont make sense! oh y cant they invent a temporary "block" facility on these wonderful creations of communication (much like the msns of 2day)

Argh!!!

I've been travelling in a bit later than usual (due to laziness) and every morning this week have been one of a million heads bobbing about the platforms at London Bridge, trying to get through the inadequate number of gates. So the platform guys open the gates and we all flood through.

This annoys me pettily for two reasons:-

1) There are still people who are so monumentally stupid and inconsiderate as to stop in front of the barriers looking for the ticket THEY DO NOT NEED to get out, and sometimes trying three or four times to push it into the gate - ARGH ARGH!!

and even less rationally

2) What's the point of barriers when at rush hour, the time the majority of travellers are coming through, the gates are just left open to cope with the volume?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Grumpy Old Moos

Packaging, in all its forms. Especially the ones with the built in "easy-open" section which lulls you into the false premise that it is actually easy-to-open when you know full well you will be grabbing for the kitchen scissors at some point down the line to do what you blooming well should have done at the outset an snipped the thing open with a blade. Grrr

People dawdling around at busy train stations messing about with their Ipod or any other digital attachment and in doing so getting in my way.

Call centers in foreign countries.

Indecisive people.

Soap operas.

I hate shaving but it has to be done.

Washing up.

There will be more in the not too distant future

Not sure this is that petty actually, but anyway.

Here at work, I was not alone in reading a memo and taking it to mean that in our November pay we'd be getting pay increase backdated from April. Everyone was pleased about this before crimbo, and budgeted accordingly to do their xmas shopping.

Pay comes in and sure enough there is no nice extra, just a few quid. Payroll say that you have received your pay rise in November and you'll get backdated in December and that they never said otherwise, even though EVERYONE read it as I did!!!

Call me cynical, but I can't help thinking that they may have just decided to keep all that extra cash in their account for an extra month!
