My Mam also had the 'death stare', which apparently I too have inherited. Problem is I've noticed glimpses of said stare in my 19 month old - she's a bugger for mimicking.......

To add, it worked every time - no threat of violence, just silent warning. Respect.

I think smacking's child abuse, five hours in the dark in the cupboard under the stairs works IMO...sod 5 mins on the 'naughty step'
