Toddinator
A man just approached my front door and it sounded like he was fiddling with the lock. I rushed to open the door and startled him. He had a piece of paper in his hands and was hiding something. He said he'd made a mistake and was looking for number 86. It clearly states my house number on the front door so that's a lie. He ran off. He was white, short and fat with a shaved head and was wearing baggy jeans and a baggy grey hoodie, I reckon between 18-25. I hope I'm wrong and he was just a carpenter or builder at the wrong house... Please be aware. Should I report this to the police? Strawbs
I would say definitely yes! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41206-very-suspicious-man-at-my-front-door/#findComment-719668 Share on other sites
Nigello
Of course you should! Also, tell us where in the area you are. Get a couple of dead locks: one's not really enough to deter them. Lowlander
Yes, immediately, so that they have a chance of catching him. If he's innocent and was meant to be at 86 he'll be able to prove this to them. Dial the non-emergency 101. worldwiser
I agree, definitely report him. Did he actually go to no. 86 when he left? And get a proper door with proper locks. No one attempts burglary on a house that looks hard to get into. Toddinator
OK, so he isn't at 86, I've reported him to the police and they have someone in the area to look out for him. Please keep your doors double locked and your eyes peeled! Mustard
What kind of locks do you currently have? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41206-very-suspicious-man-at-my-front-door/#findComment-719701 Share on other sites
Toddinator
Sorry for the delay. Both doors have two different types of locks (I don't know what they're called!) so you need four keys to get in. Luckily by boyfriend is working from home so we should fine. It just seems a coincidence that this has happened two days after we've returned from holiday - like they've been watching the house. Toddinator
No, the neighbours popped in to look after the cat so lights went on and off.
