DaveR
I've yet to come across a better hangover cure than a bacon roll with lots of brown sauce and a small lake of strong sugary tea. El Pibe
Basically a pervasive sense of your own mortality, usually coupled with the heebie jeebies (non specific paranoia and a sense of just missing things at the edges of your vision).Apparently something to do with the low blood sugar, common or garden sleep deprivation and that alcohol can cause acute depression like symptoms in some chunk of your brain or other. It's insidious and generally will last all day, long after the more physical symptoms have gone. Sleep is the only cure, though a modest hair of the dog can help alleviate it.I'll usually get it if there has been more than one session within a few days, a 'compound hangover' if you will.In this case I've had a couple of leaving drinks with different friends during the week and a fairly hefty one with my brother.Add to that stress from moving and my little one had an operation a week ago and I'm vaguely amazed I haven't fallen apart at the seams. Mick Mac
I usually drink masses of water. Seems to do the trick, usually feel a bit better within 30 mins. (Although if you have it san pelligrino seems to feel like its putting little bubbles of energy back into your system, its probably not, but it helps tingle the taste buds back into action). Otta
Yep, necking a load of water before bed is the best way, but usually I can't be arsed and just dive in to oblivion.I too get The Fear quite badly. Not as badly as I used to though, a few years back I'd be texting all my mates to make sure I hadn't upset anyone, and then get more worried when they didn't respond.Of course they were all in bed hungover and ignoring their phones, but I never found that out until the following day. Help-Ma-Boab
For taste bud recovery I can't look beyond a Sherbert Dip Dab. Irn Bru in a glass with ice cubes is a crucial element as well. Bacon and egg doubler also helps. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41136-best-hangover-cure/#findComment-719715 Share on other sites
Mick Mac
Otta - I always think if you are sober and sensible enough to drink a load of water before going to bed then you aren't drunk enough to worry about a hangover. :) Water the next day ... lots of it. Otta
I often in a drunk state think "must drink water", but then I take a sip and realise that I just can't drink anymore liquid of any sort. Pickle
In my pre-UK mad 20's I used to stumble to the bakery round the corner. A chicken and apricot pie and a cream filled iced bun, washed down with a full fat coke, hangover sorted. Other sure fire winner was KFC potato and gravy, sadly not available in this country. And I wonder why I was fat... Otta
See that sort of thing is the last thing I could stomach with a bad hangover. Iusually crave goodness and neck a carton of Innocence Kiwi and Lime smoothy. It's green so t must do me good. It's also very acidic, and I end up with a bellyache. MGolden
Two barrocca, 600mg of ibuprofen and if that doesn't work a can of full fat coke. However, as Otta and EP have said 'the fear' can be worse than the headache and so as I grow older I rarely drink enough to require a hangover cure ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41136-best-hangover-cure/#findComment-719747 Share on other sites
KalamityKel
A BIG bag of mini cheddars and a cold can of "full fat" cherry coke didn't do me too bad the other morning... just the tummy tho i fink me brain is way past any quick fix solution ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41136-best-hangover-cure/#findComment-719795 Share on other sites
