Planning permission for Bike shed ?

It is true that to have a bike shed/ storage in the front garden that I would need to obtain planning permission?

I don't think so if it's temporary construction (ie. no foundation) and not huge.

My deeds prevent any building in the front of the house and x number of feet from the road.

But is a shed a building ....? ( think we have same in our deeds and hadn't thought that would prevent a shed )

Would take up less room than the 5 wheelie bins there at the moment .

Hoping to go for a metal bike shed .

I have seen lots of bike sheds in the front gardens around Dulwich but when I looked online to buy one it said about planning permission ?!
